Program Overview

Candidates for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion are typically 7 years of age or older. All children must be baptized prior to receiving First Reconciliation and First Communion.

First Reconciliation preparation focuses on helping the children appreciate that God loves them and is always ready to forgive them. First Communion preparation draws the children into a fuller and more active participation in the life of the Church. Through hands-on activities, being part of a community, praying with others and attending Mass children continue learn of the importance of God as they come to the Table for the first time.

Jesus Day is the final exciting step prior to First Communion. The children and parents gather to create their Communion Banners and family breakfast. Their banners are proudly displayed on their family pew the day of their Communion.
